Our 2025 reel brings together the best of this year and moments from the past few: work, ideas and art that capture where we’ve been, and where we’re heading.
Our new site is now live, introducing For Different as a creative company for the AI era: two studios shaped by venture building. The Creative Studio builds brands, digital experiences and stories that move people and markets. The Venture Studio builds products and tools that reshape creativity. Explore more on our Info page.
We’ve built the company we always wished existed, a culture shaped by experience, with a manifesto that makes work meaningful, impact measurable, and defines how it feels to work with us. After years of building, experimenting and learning, we’ve distilled what makes us, us. Ten principles that define how we think, create and build. From standing for something to working differently, these principles capture the DNA of For Different, they’re what drives us, how we collaborate, and what we believe creative companies should stand for. For the first time, we’re sharing them openly, as both a marker of intent and an invitation. To build better, think braver, and keep doing things our way. For purpose, for progress, and for different. Read more here.
Our new site was created in collaboration with SB8 Studios, reuniting our founder, Lee Fairbrother, with one of For Different’s first team members (and a dear friend), Sorby Brown. Built on friendship and shared history, it was a joy to have Sorby back to help launch this new chapter.
We’re building tools to move the creative industry forward. Products shaped by the challenges we’ve lived. A new chapter for For Different.
The First in Our Digital Art Series with the launch of our new site, we wanted the homepage to reflect more than just the brands we’ve built, it’s a space to share creative expression. Throughout the year, the hero will evolve into a digital art wall, featuring pieces from our team, collaborators and guest artists. Our first piece, Headwreck, comes from founder Lee Fairbrother and 3D and Motion Director Alessandro Mariotti. It revisits one of For Different’s earliest ideas, that inside, we’re all the same; it’s the outside that makes us different. The skull became our symbol of that duality: togetherness and difference. A physical version of is already in development and will be exhibited in London next year. More digital art to come.
Ogilvy, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH, WPP, Stink. Now For Different. Dan’s arrival comes at a pivotal moment, with a new chapter about to unfold. A warm welcome to the team Dan.
We’re excited to share that four projects are now in early development: Vela, Orion, Argo, and Lyra. Each is born from the pain points we’ve lived and the patterns we’ve seen across dozens of brands. Still in stealth, but almost ready to share. We’re building with intent, creating tools designed to move the creative industry forward. If you’re interested in collaborating, testing early, or investing in the future of creative workflows, we’d love to connect. In case you’re wondering, the names are drawn from constellations: symbols of navigation, exploration and connection. A fitting metaphor for tools designed to guide the next generation of creative work. Reach out if you’d like to find out more.
Join us for an in-person workshop exploring the foundations of building a brand, from defining purpose and positioning to creating clarity through design. Our Creative Studio builds brands, digital experiences and stories that move people and markets. With a venture mindset and powered by AI, we’ve designed five programmes to meet the challenges businesses face most.
For us, music lives between background and inspiration, it fuels ideas, sets pace, and keeps us connected to culture. Here’s what’s been on rotation this month. It’s been all go with the site, a mix of focus, flow and high-energy, with a couple of spooky halloween vibes for good measure.

Our founder, Lee Fairbrother, has completed the D&AD Creative Leaders Programme: “It’s been an inspiring experience. A chance for reflection, learning and connection. The programme offered space to reset, refocus and grow, both personally and as a leader. I’m excited to bring that energy back into For Different as we head into an exciting new chapter. A huge thank you to the D&AD team and the rest of the cohort. What a ride.”

Our founder, Lee Fairbrother, joined a panel at Apple Covent Garden to explore how to raise funds and build momentum, with or without investment. The session covered everything from bootstrapping and brand value to creative growth on your own terms. “I brought the self-funded perspective, a reminder that the best funding is revenue, and that testing ideas early matters more than perfecting them. Above all, it’s about putting yourself in positions of luck and creating the conditions for good things to happen.”
We reframed Mantle around a bold idea: Retire Awesome. Modernising one of the UK’s leading pension platforms, supporting over a million pensions. See the full case study.
Nice news from our corner of the world. Our founder and creative director, Lee Fairbrother, has joined Imperial Enterprise Lab as an Expert-in-Residence, supporting their community of founders with brand and digital design. It’s a role that plays to Lee’s strengths: helping early-stage ideas feel sharper, clearer and more compelling. We’re proud to see more For Different thinking out in the world. We might not be the ones saving the planet, but we’re proud to support those who are. In December 2024, we set out to find the most exciting and innovative founders to support at the very start of their journey. The best place to do that? Imperial Enterprise Lab. Together, we launched the For our Planet, a brand exercise worth over £30k, to help one inspiring startup. From a huge number of incredible applications, BlueNose stood out from the very start. Their story, ambition and achievements so far completely won us over. We’re excited to help them tell that story with clarity, creativity and heart as they move into their next phase of growth.
We’re committed to doing our bit for the planet. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Imperial Enterprise Lab to support the next generation of Green Tech startups, some of the brightest minds tackling the planet’s biggest challenges. To help one of these ventures launch with confidence, we offered our Create Brand Programme, worth over £30k, to kickstart their journey. We are looking for a founder with a powerful story, world-changing tech and a determination to make a difference. Applications close January 2025.
