STUDIO ASSISTANT
Part-time / Freelance / Retainer-Based
Help keep the creativity flowing
For Different is a small, sharp creative studio building brands, digital products and AI tools. We work with ambitious businesses, scale-ups and challengers who want to stand out, move fast, and build something that lasts. We’re growing. Fast enough that things are getting busy, but not so fast that we want chaos. That’s where you come in.
The role
We’re looking for a brilliant Studio Assistant to support our Creative Director and help keep the studio running smoothly. This is a part-time freelance role, ideally spread across 3 to 4 days a week, with flexibility around hours, except for Monday mornings when we kick off the week together at 9 am.
You’ll sit close to the heart of the business, helping manage the day-to-day, shaping how we work, and freeing up time for deeper creative focus. You don’t need to be a designer, but you’ll need to thrive in a creative environment.
What you’ll be doing
This isn’t a flat-out, all-day-every-day role. It’s steady, flexible, and spread across the week. You’ll dip into three key areas depending on what the week needs: Studio Coordination, Business Operations and Creative Momentum.
Some tasks will be weekly, others monthly, and some come in waves. The goal is to keep things clear, structured and moving.
Studio Coordination
Managing the Creative Director’s calendar and inbox
Booking meetings, travel and studio sessions
Helping plan team events and away days
Keeping drives and Notion spaces tidy and up to date
Supporting with timesheets and light project management
Business Operations
Preparing proposals, contracts and statements of work
Supporting development of our operational playbooks
Helping our finance team with billing and receipts
Liaising with suppliers, freelancers and partners
Supporting timelines, workflow and light planning
Creative Momentum
Helping manage case study launches and content
Learning to speak the language of developers, printers and suppliers
Using tools like Figma, Notion, Harvest, Xero and AI tools
Protecting time, pace and creative flow across the studio
About you
You’ve probably supported fast-moving teams in studios, startups or small businesses. We care more about mindset than job titles. If you’ve kept things moving, supported leaders and enjoy making work work better, we’d love to hear from you.
Calm, clear and unflappable
Naturally organised and proactive
Confident working independently
Tech-savvy and quick to learn new tools
Comfortable speaking with clients and collaborators
Excited by structure, systems and making things smoother
The setup
This role is designed to fit around the right person. We’re not clock-watchers, but we do value consistency and presence where it counts.
Freelance or retainer-based
Available Mondays from 9am (non-negotiable)
Otherwise flexible, ideally across 3 to 4 short days
Remote-first, but Cotswolds proximity is a bonus
Able to travel to London occasionally for client meetings (travel not reimbursed)
Must have the right to work in the UK
Starting soon, and growing if it’s a fit
What we pay
We publish salary ranges for all roles; it’s part of how we work.In this case, the scope could flex depending on experience, availability and location. Let us know what you’d need, and how you’d like to shape the setup.
The perks
Team away days and creative offsites
Summer socials and Christmas parties
Monthly learning sessions
Calm, collaborative studio culture
The space to shape your role, not just fill one
