01 – CLIENT + BRIEF
Modulr is an API business payments platform that offers a variety of banking components called modules. This allows business to create their own bespoke banking solution and simplify complex payment flows.
The challenge was to create a B2B fintech brand like no other.
02 – THE IDEA
The Modulr identity was inspired by movement. Its emblem; The Transfer, is the passing of two cube faces, or modules. The negative space creates two diagonal arrow heads pointing in opposite directions and visualising an exchange.
03 – GRAPHIC ELEMENTS
Mod-Blocks are an endless number of forms created using an isometric grid. These distinctive graphic devices act as a visual cue to introduce content associated to the brand.
In addition to the full colour Mod-Block compositions, there is also a mono colour treatment against the slate background.
04 – COLOUR
Modulr is a digital first brand and this is recognised by the colour palette. The brand uses web first colours inspired by coastlines and the ocean. Open environments without barriers. These colours are then used sparingly and against a clean white canvas.
05 – TYPOGRAPHY
The primary typeface for the Modulr brand is Lato. The family is used for all copy including headers, sub-headers and body. Light, Regular and Medium are the primary weights, with Bold used to highlight content.
06 – THE PRODUCT
The Modulr brand does not use photography and instead draws attention on the product using animated isometric tiles.
06 – BRAND AESTHETIC
Strength in simplicity. Embracing whitespace with bold pops of colour drawn from the Mod-Block graphics and product tiles.
07 – WEBSITE
The Modulr website uses subtle animation to draw attention to the product and bring the Mod-Blocks to life.
