01 – THE APP FOR HOUSESHARES
Bill is a free Android and Apple OS app design to help houseshares split finances and make life easier for shared living. Bill was created and developed whilst working with the venture group Blenheim Chalcot.
02 – THE STORY
Bill began as an early stage business concept presented to the BC team by Lee whilst he took part on the Future Leadership Development programme BC Build.
The programme required the submission of a digital business concept. Each submission was scored by peers and also the BC partners. The winning submission was then given the opportunity for investment. Bill was the cohorts winning concept.
03 – BRAND
The brand was created with simplicity in mind. The core of the Bill proposition; to make life simple for people who share a home.
04 – UX
The user experience broke down into two key stages called ON and IN.
ON focused on on-boarding the user into the app. Breaking down the process into simple steps whilst gathering as much data as possible.
IN ensured that once all users were successfully on-boarded, that they were able to communicate with one another and that the appropriated data and content could be served within as few taps and swipes as possible.
Each screen was iterated countless times removing unnecessary functionality, adopting Picasso's Bull technique.
05 – VISUAL LANGUAGE
The user interface focused on simple visual language and recognisable graphics. Each icon was bespoke and created to guide the user through the experience with as little friction as possible.
06 – THE APP
The app prototype was designed, developed and launched in the summer of 2016 and available on the App Store and Google.
